The National Rugby Championship Grand Final descends on Perth tomorrow with the Western Force looking to defend their home turf in the West against the Canberra Vikings.
In a first for the NRC the Minderoo Foundation will also be donating $100, 000.00 for every try the Western Force score in the final and $25, 000.00 for every Canberra Vikings try to the 2019 Telethon Appeal in Perth.
The Telethon is well known around Australia for fundraising for sick and disadvantaged kids in Western Australia.
Kicking off at 12pm AWST (3pm AEDT), the Western Force will play at UWA Sports Ground, with the Canberra Vikings chasing their maiden premiership in the competition that started in 2014.
The match will be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS and Kayo.
Western Force Captain, Andrew Deegan said: “Our preparation has been really good. We came in off a really hard game last Saturday, Brisbane City really stuck it to us. We have recovered well and we’re really looking forward to it.
“We’re rely on our bench this weekend with eight finishers coming on to really lift the energy again and come away with it.
“Hopefully tomorrow the crowd shows up. Every home game we get a couple of thousand down here. The whole hill up here is blue, the sea of blue is very loyal and we hope they turn up tomorrow and cheer quite loud.”
Canberra Vikings player, Darcy Swain said: “It’s a bit daunting when you come over here and the Perth community get behind the Force.
“We’re just trying to focus on ourselves and our processes doing our best to come over here and take away the goods.
“I think it’ll be pretty close a lot of tries to be scored. We’re a set piece team and these guys are too. I think it really gives us a platform to play expansive Rugby.”
